John Fivecoat, National Accounts Manager

Tusco Team Member Since 1999

Main Responsibilities:  Locate quality prospects and clearly communicate who Tusco Display is and how these companies may benefit from our expertise and capabilities.  Define what clients really need and communicate those needs to our Project Management, Engineering, Production, and Shipping teams.  I’m the connection and communication vehicle between the clients and Tusco.

Specialized Industry-Related Training Received:  Sandler Sales Training.  I was a Project Manager at Tusco Display for three years before moving into my current position.  During that time, I acquired knowledge of our production capabilities and strengths, the detailed steps involved in fabricating displays, an in-depth understanding of our labor and material costs, and understanding of our processes from when a project starts through final shipment.

Favorite Book or Magazine: The Bible and North American Whitetail magazine

Favorite Pastimes or Hobbies: Bow hunting whitetail deer, fishing for walleye and saugeye, running, and spending time with my family

What Are You a Fan Of?  Hard work and spending time with family.  I’m a fan of great athletes who are not only gifted, but who love the sport they play and they give 100% during the offseason as well as during the game.  A couple of my favorites are Michael Jordon, John Elway, and Brett Farve.

What Else Are You Passionate About? Living out my walk with Jesus Christ and working with youth at church.  And I’ve always been passionate about competing, which helps me push myself to be better.

Favorite Food or Snack: Deer sticks, fish, ice cream, and anything that is sweet that involves sugar, like butterscotch candy or a sucker

Favorite Quote: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Phil 4:13 and, “A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.”Larry Bird

Can’t Imagine a Week Without: Sleep, shelter, and laughter of our children

Social, Fraternal, Professional Participation, Awards:Cross Country Athletic and Academic NAIA All-American and Track & Field NAIA Academic All American at Malone College

Personal Accomplishments: Qualified for the Cabela’s National Walleye Team Championship four years in a row.

Personal (married, children etc.):  I’ve been married to my lovely wife for 11 years and we have two children.

Favorite Example of Tusco’s Ingenuity:  Therma-Tru was having an issue with the door swinging mechanism on their entry door kiosk failing in the field and binding up.  We used our experience from another project to develop a solution that would eliminate the metal-on-metal friction.  We tested our solution by swinging a door over 1,000 times with no noticeable wear.  Through this, we are now retrofitting their old supplier’s units in Lowe’s
